Commissioning the NRGkick with WiFi and Modbus API connection

Install and connect the NRGkick app

Download the NRGkick mobile app, install it on your smartphone, and create a user account. Then enable Bluetooth on your phone and connect to the charging station.

Establish the WiFi connection

Open the settings in the app and add the WiFi network that the charging station should connect to. Use the same WiFi or LAN network where the Clemap Edge Device is located.

Enable the Modbus API

Go to Settings → Local API and activate the Modbus API. Then press Save. In the same window, the IP address of the charging station is displayed at the bottom. Write it down.

Configure the advanced functions

In Settings → Extended Features, deactivate all options except Silent Mode.

This means:

Charging Current Decimal Mode: OFF

Phase Switching: OFF

Config Mode: OFF

Silent Mode: ON

Note on maximum charging current (Current max)

Depending on the charging adapter used, the maximum charging current is set automatically:

Small adapter: max. 8 A

Larger adapter: max. 32 A

If you try to set a value higher than the permitted maximum current, the value will remain limited to the respective upper limit, for example 8 A.

Access the web interface

If your laptop is on the same LAN network as the charging station, you can open the web interface by entering the previously noted IP address into your browser’s address bar. In the web interface, under the API section, you will find the current operating data and can also make certain settings there.
