The configuration process for the Sungrow charger is mainly managed remotely by Sungrow.
Configuration tip for Sungrow DC charging stations
CLEMAP Load Management is fully compatible with Sungrow DC charging stations and reliably controls their output power. Please note that CLEMAP regulates power based on the AC measurement and does not account for the internal AC/DC losses of the charging stations.
- In dynamic circuits this is not an issue: the system reacts to overall consumption in real time and automatically adjusts the charging power as needed.
- In static circuits, however, the power loss cannot be detected. Sungrow charging stations achieve at least 92% efficiency even in the worst case.
To ensure safe and stable operation, we recommend including a small safety margin in the configuration.
Example: For a 200 A fuse rating, this results in:
In CLEMAP, a safety margin of 16 A should therefore be configured:
This small adjustment keeps the system in a safe range even under high load.
Since the configuration is carried out directly by Sungrow, you need to contact their support team. Proceed as follows:
- Send an email or open a support ticket with Sungrow.
- Provide important information
- Charger model and serial number
- Include confirmation of your setup with CLEMAP Load Management
- Ask Sungrow to enable Modbus on the charger to allow communication with the CLEMAP system.
The gateway address 192.168.1.1 should preferably not be used on the router, as it is reserved internally by the charger. Choose a different gateway address instead, e.g. 192.168.2.1, to avoid conflicts.
Troubleshooting: No Modbus connection after a configuration change
Symptom After a configuration change made by Sungrow (e.g. enabling Modbus), there is no Modbus connection to the charging station.
Cause Modbus activation only takes effect after a complete and extended power-off of the charging station. A simple restart alone is usually not sufficient.
Solution
- Fully power off the charging station via OCPP.
Duration of the power-off still to be clarified with Sungrow.
- Then restart the charging station.
