Every charging point in an installation with load management needs a license. You can see which licenses are available and what they cost in the license comparison.

Only the owner of an installation can buy licenses or redeem license codes. Users with read-only rights do not see these options.

### Buying licenses

You have two options:

- **In the [license pool](https://floem.clemap.com/next/licenses)** under Licenses: for licenses that you will later assign to different installations.

- **Directly on an installation** in the **Licenses** tab via **Buy licenses**: for licenses used only by this installation.

Licenses are available with two payment types:

- **One-time payment**: you pay for the license once and then use it without further costs.
- **Subscription**: you pay for the license on a recurring basis, for example annually.

How to proceed:

- Select the licenses you need. Separate activation licenses are no longer required.

- Enter or adjust the billing address.
- If you wish, enter your own reference, for example a project number. It will appear on the invoice.

- Complete the purchase. The licenses are available in Floem immediately.
- You will receive the invoice separately by e-mail. At the moment it may take a few days to arrive.

### Redeeming license codes

If you have received a license code, for example from Solar-Log, redeem it on the installation in the **Licenses** tab via **Redeem license code**. License codes used to be called coupon codes.

You can enter several codes one after the other or paste them all at once, for example "4YW6Z1YB, 9658GKBL".

### Which license a charging station needs

When you add or edit a charging station on an installation in the **Configuration** tab, Floem automatically selects the required license. You can see it in the charging station under **License**. If you change the configuration, the license changes automatically.

The license depends on the configuration, e.g.:

- **Pro AC or Pro DC**: priority **High** or **Low**, a DC charging station or a charging station in a dynamic circuit.
- **Flex**: priority **Minimum and PV** or **PV only**.

If you no longer have a suitable license, a link appears so you can buy one.

### Free licenses

On an installation without circuits, up to 5 charging points with a Basic AC license are free of charge. They appear in the list of charging stations as **Free**. You do not need to buy anything for this.
